Your subconscious mind awaits

Your subconscious mind awaits

It has been said that the human mind is like a room full of drunken monkeys — jumping around, chattering endlessly throughout the day and night. We often feel like we are at war with our brains.

This happens to all of us and is known as “Monkey mind”.

Like most of us, I struggle to switch off. Whether I am thinking about my work or personal life – racing thoughts can easily fuel stress and its difficult to reach a point of mental clarity.

But by ‘taming the monkeys’, we are able to pay attention to the chattering and understand.

Taming the mind will make you calmer, happier and help you free yourself from fear, worry and anxiety.

Once your conscious mind is tamed, the layers begin to unfold into your subconscious and unconscious mind.

This is something that I am still working on every day. Theres no quick fix but over time I am too learning how to ‘tame my monkeys’.

Gentle breath work and meditation allows us to relax and overcome distractions.

Here are some ways you can ‘tame your monkeys’

1. Practice mindfulness
2. Write things down
3. Listen to some music
4. Make sure you get enough sleep
5. Keep your living space clean
6. Talk, talk about what is on your mind
7. Go for a walk
8. Set yourself an intention for the day
9. Meditation
10. Self awareness
11. Choose how you react
12. Breathing exercises
